O.R.I. Martin S.p.A.'s 2025 Sustainability Report is now online. Now in its seventh edition, the Report covers the company’s Brescia and Ospitaletto plants.
Prepared in accordance with the international GRI Standards, the document outlines the company’s journey towards increasingly integrating environmental, social and governance objectives into its business model, in line with the Group Sustainability Framework and the principles of the 2030 Agenda.
This long-term journey is built around key pillars: decarbonisation and energy efficiency, innovation and digitalisation, people development, inclusion, safety, and commitment to local communities and the surrounding area.
A commitment that continues despite a challenging environment
2025 was marked by a still complex economic and geopolitical environment for the steel industry. “Despite the challenging context,” said Carolina de Miranda, Sustainability Manager, “the company continued to pursue its sustainability and decarbonisation journey with determination, strengthening investments in innovation, energy efficiency and reducing its environmental impact.”
Key developments included the new melting furnace equipped with an electromagnetic Stirrer, the growing use of renewable energy sources, and the validation of the Group’s climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
ORI Martin also remains involved in Confindustria Brescia’s Green Metals project, which aims to promote the use of biomethane as an alternative to fossil natural gas in the steel industry.
People, innovation and local communities
People remain at the heart of ORI Martin’s development model. In 2025, the workforce reached 640 employees, marking net growth for the third consecutive year, alongside further investment in training and skills development.
The company also continues its commitment to diversity and inclusion, including through the “Acciaio al Femminile” project promoted by siderweb, as well as to process digitalisation and the first applications of Artificial Intelligence.
ORI Martin also continues to strengthen its relationship with the local community through social, cultural and charitable initiatives and by taking part in collaborative projects such as Comunità Pratica.
This progress has led ORI Martin to be recognised among the Top 17 companies in the Sustainability Award, reinforcing the company’s goal of combining industrial competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability while creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
